Playground Fun by EH and PBB

At recess we play on the monkey bars and the slides. We have fun at recess. Everybody likes the swings. We play Duck, Duck, Goose and Snakes in the Woods. There are a lot of games we play. We play Hopscotch on the blacktop. We played a lot on the equipment. One student broke her arm on the equipment.

En el recreo jugamos en las barras y las diapositivas. Nos divertimos en el recreo. Todo el mundo le gustan los cambios. Jugamos pato, pato, ganso y serpientes en el bosque. Hay un montón de juegos que jugamos. Jugamos Rayuela en el asfalto. Hemos jugado mucho en el equipo. Un estudiante se rompió el brazo en el equipo.

Math Work Stations

During our math time we work on a lot of different things. Here some students are writing number stories (creating a story to explain a math problem, such as 'there are five oranges and three apples so there are eight fruits').

Others here are building two-digit numbers with blocks. This helps understand the parts of a number.

Durante nuestro tiempo de matemáticas, trabajamos en un montón de cosas diferentes. Aquí algunos estudiantes están escribiendo historias de números (la creación de una historia para explicar un problema de matemáticas, tales como "hay cinco naranjas y tres manzanas por lo que hay ocho frutos").

Buzzing About Books

Several days a week after our independent reading we take a few minutes to talk with a buddy about our reading and our books. We brainstormed how to buzz with a buddy about books and came up with a great list.
